Each year, Vinitaly also presents market research and surveys providing the necessary medium-long term vision to help companies develop their strategies.
During Vinitaly a series of competitions are organized among which the International Wine Competition, one of the most popular and most selective competitions in the world.

A unique event during which the annual Oscar is being awarded to wines and wine protagonists in the national wine production sector.
An academy of experts will elect an award winner in each of the following categories:

Vino in Festa, South Tyrol, from May 18th to June 16th 2012.
A varied programme focusing on the topic of wine invites visitors to taste, enjoy and get to know each other or simply linger through the 15 historical wine growing villages along the South Tyrolean Wine Road from 18th of May to 16th of June 2012.
Vino in Festa ends with the Wine cellar night on the 16th of June, when the wine cellars along the Wine Road open their doors to visitors allowing them to experience different wine routes by shuttle.
